Questions For A Long Watch In A Blind – II
Am I free to take off the hooded cloak of science,
free to wonder about in the profusion of singularities here in my space-time enclosure,
free to wonder if the minute embroidery of a lily is more than a random
innovation for survival,
free to ask if the tall oak is a token?
Does modern physics encourage me to believe my restless spirit, so cunningly hidden in flesh, resides here and now in other manifolds of existence within which, after shedding its comic drapery of molecules, it may roam toward horizons distant enough for an eternity of exploration?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Accept a way of small steps and sudden tumbles,
a way that bears stubborn storms of emotion that render prayer dry and mindless,
a way that lifts daily discouragements into prayer,
a way that is faithful in demanding struggles.
